PM Modi launches multiple development projects in Surat to drive growth & improve ‘Ease of Living’ 

 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched multiple development projects worth over eighteen thousand eight hundred crore rupees spanning the road, power, and industrial sectors in Surat. Addressing a public gathering on this occasion, Mr. Modi said, these initiatives will drive growth and improve ‘Ease of Living’ for the people. The Prime Minister expressed happiness that on the occasion of Environment Day, he is in Surat, which is one of the cleanest cities in the country. He said, the world is gradually progressing towards a greener future, and India is actively contributing to this transition. The Prime Minister highlighted that among the Indian states, Gujarat took pioneering steps many years ago. At the beginning of this century, Gujarat established a dedicated government department for renewable energy. Mr. Modi said, India’s first solar park was developed in Charanka village of Patan district in Gujarat, transforming the site into a landmark destination for the nation’s renewable energy movement. 
After reaching Surat this afternoon, the Prime Minister first visited Hazira, and reviewed ongoing industrial and infrastructure operations. Later, in the evening, Mr. Modi is scheduled to visit Daman to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various projects worth around 2,970 Crore rupees. These projects include major healthcare and aviation infrastructure. Mr. Modi will also lay foundation stone for crucial maritime projects for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
