Health Minister JP Nadda reaffirms government’s commitment to safe and hygienic food

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda today reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safe and hygienic food for a healthier future. Sharing a social media post on World Food Safety Day, he urged citizens to adopt healthy eating habits and contribute to building a fit and self-reliant India. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to reduce cooking oil consumption by 10% and embrace a balanced diet for better health and a stronger nation.

Every year on 7th of June, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization, together with national authorities, civil society, academia and Other participants around the world, mark World Food Safety Day. The Day highlights food safety as a shared right and responsibility, and serves as a powerful opportunity for collective action. This year’s theme, From Problem to Solution – Safe Food Everywhere, highlights the importance of ensuring food safety through cleanliness and scientific practices from farm to plate.
