Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh along with other senior officials and scientists, witnessed the successful launch of Vikram-1 via live telecast at Anusandhan Bhawan in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering after launch, Mr Singh said that the successful launching of Vikram 1 reflects the growing strength of India’s public-private partnership in space.
He said that the successful mission also highlights the rapid expansion of India’s space economy. Mr Singh highlighted that the number of space startups has increased from only a few to more than 400. The Minister noted that the successful Vikram-1 launch reinforces India’s growing position as a global player in the space economy and demonstrates the country’s expanding capabilities in space technology and commercial launch services.
Congratulating Skyroot Aerospace, Mr Singh said that the achievement was made possible by the reforms introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open the space sector to private participation.
