The India Meteorological Department IMD has said that the southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of the east-central and west-central Arabian Sea, parts of Goa, and additional areas of Karnataka. Similar conditions are also prevailing over Tamil Nadu and the southwest Bay of Bengal today. The IMD has forecast that conditions remain favourable for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into more parts of the central Arabian Sea, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, as well as the remaining parts of Goa, Tamil Nadu, and the southwest Bay of Bengal. The weather agency has also indicated that similar conditions are likely to prevail over additional areas of the west-central, east-central and northeast Bay of Bengal, along with some parts of the Northeastern states, during the next two to three days.
