Punjab Police arrests four more accused, including Afghan national, in terror-narcotics crackdown

Punjab Police has arrested four more accused, including an Afghan national, in an ongoing crackdown on terror and narcotics networks linked to cases in Mohali and Amritsar districts. Two juveniles have also been apprehended. Police sources said five pistols, more than one kilogram of heroin, and drug money worth five lakh rupees were recovered from the accused.

The latest arrests come a day after Punjab Police nabbed two associates of a foreign-based terror operative and recovered a fully assembled RDX-based Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing about 2.5 kilograms.

Meanwhile, the RDX-laden IED recovered from three Amritsar-based youths in Mohali has been successfully neutralised and dismantled by the State Bomb Disposal Squad. Police said investigations in both cases are continuing to uncover possible links between terror and drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
