Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated the Skyroot Aerospace team over a telephone call after India’s first privately developed orbital rocket, Vikram-1, successfully reached orbit.

 

The Prime Minister said the historic achievement will inspire the youth of the country to come forward and contribute to innovation. Mr Modi also expressed happiness that the Skyroot team comprises mostly young professionals. The Prime Minister also invited Team Vikram-1 to meet him.

 

Later, in a social media post, the Prime Minister said this is a defining moment in India’s space journey. He added that the growing participation of India’s private sector is opening new frontiers and accelerating innovation. Mr Modi said this achievement will encourage countless youngsters to dream bigger and innovate fearlessly.
