The holy city of Ayodhya is witnessing the grand celebration of the tenth Deepotsav today. Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will attend the celebrations as the chief guest.

A colourful procession featuring traditional dance and music performances was taken out this morning from Saket College. It will pass through Ram Katha Park and Ram Path, covering a distance of around three kilometres.

At Ram Ki Paidi, the main venue of the Deepotsav celebrations, more than 30 lakh earthen lamps have been laid with the help of over 35,000 volunteers. The process of filling the lamps with oil and placing wicks began early this morning.

The main celebrations will commence at Ram Katha Park with the ceremonial coronation of Lord Shri Ram. This will be followed by a grand Maha Aarti on the banks of the Saryu, marking the formal commencement of the Deepotsav celebrations.

The premises of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple will also be illuminated with one lakh earthen lamps.

Artists from South Africa, Sri Lanka and Laos will present Ramleela performances during the celebrations. Around 2,500 artists from India and abroad will showcase their art forms and cultural traditions across 12 stages, offering visitors a glimpse of the country’s rich cultural heritage.
