The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance-II (MDA-II) today announced National People’s Party (NPP) leader James PK Sangma as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election slated for 18th of this month.
The decision was taken after coalition partners agreed on following the convention of supporting the nominee of the alliance’s largest constituent. A meeting of leaders of the parliamentary parties of all MDA-II constituents was chaired by Chief Minister and Alliance leader Conrad K. Sangma today, wherein it was unanimously decided the NPP leader’s candidature in the Rajya Sabha election.
