The Election Commission has organised special enrolment camps at colleges and universities in Delhi with the objective of maximising the enrolment of young electors. A large number of students visited the camps yesterday to seek information on the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, and to obtain or submit electoral forms.

The camps will continue today as well. The EC said that Block Level Officers, or BLOs, present at these Camps are guiding the students to fill their Forms, collect the filled-in forms and also resolve queries related to SIR. Another round of camps will be organised on 7th and 8th of next month. The poll body requested all young electors to avail this opportunity for enrolment of their names in electoral rolls and participate in the democratic process.

Special Camps will also be held at all polling station locations on 4th and 11th of next month for the enrolment of all categories of electors. The Commission said that new applicants attaining the age of 18 years on or before 1st October this year should apply in Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the Electoral Roll. EC noted that as of now, more than four lakh hearings have been conducted in Delhi. The Election Commission also said that electors who have received notices for unmapped or logical discrepancies will be assisted by BLOs, who will visit their homes to collect documents.

EC has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Delhi. The period for filing claims and objections will continue till 30th of next month, while the final electoral roll will be published on 4th December this year.
