J&K: Heavy rush at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, necessary arrangements in place to ensure smooth pilgrimage

In Jammu and Kashmir, a heavy rush of devotees is being witnessed at the holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the pilgrimage is continuing smoothly despite the large influx of pilgrims. Due to the heavy rush at the Bhawan, yatra registration was temporarily suspended a few hours earlier on Saturday evening. However, the registration process resumed early Sunday morning, allowing devotees to continue their pilgrimage.  The registration process for the pilgrimage was again suspended yesterday till 4 AM today due to the heavy influx of pilgrims arriving at the base camp in Katra. The decision was taken to regulate the movement of devotees and ensure smooth crowd management as the shrine is witnessing an exceptionally large rush during the ongoing summer vacation season. Despite the temporary suspension of fresh registrations, the yatra of already registered pilgrims is continuing smoothly. Despite the prevailing hot weather conditions, thousands of devotees are lining up at Katra to begin their onward journey to the holy cave shrine. Enthusiastic pilgrims, chanting “Jai Mata Di,” can be seen trekking along the yatra route to seek the blessings of the Goddess. The rush is largely attributed to the ongoing summer vacation season in many parts of the country, during which popular tourist destinations and pilgrimage centres are witnessing a significant increase in footfall. Authorities and the Shrine Board have put in place necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage. Thousands of devotees are undertaking the pilgrimage to the revered shrine nestled in the Trikuta Hills. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged pilgrims to cooperate with crowd management measures.
