India is leading fight against those who are promoting terrorism, extremism around the world, says NSA Ajit Doval

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has said that India is leading the fight against those who are promoting terrorism and extremism around the world.

 Ajit Doval stated this following a meeting with Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, Secretary General of  Muslim World League at India Islamic Centre in New Delhi today.

Addressing the gathering jointly of religious leaders and academics, Ajit Doval said India is also a victim of terrorism and it has faced numerous terror attacks including 26/11 Mumbai attack in which 168 people have lost their lives. The NSA said that India has been actively working to combat terrorism through various means including strengthening the security appratus, enacting new laws and cooperating with other countries to prevent terrorists activities

A delegation of the Muslim World League, headed by Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-issa is on a  five-day visit to India from July 10. The delegation came at an official invitation from the Government of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa, Secretary General of Muslim World League said that Indian wisdom has contributed a lot to the humanity around the world. He added that there is a need to work together to promote peace and stability in the world. Mr Issa said Indian constitution is sacred one, which unites the entire country, including the people of different casts and faiths. He added that India and the World Muslim League must work together in promoting peace and stability in the world, as the every country is connected with each other.

Dr Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa will also meet the President, PM Narendra Modi and senior Islamic religious leaders and religious leaders of different faiths during the visit.
