Ministry of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh said that grievance redressal should go beyond disposal of complaints and focus on addressing the concerns and aspirations of pensioners. Dr. Singh added that the pension-related disputes should be resolved administratively so that pensioners are not forced to approach courts.
He made these remarks while addressing 2nd National Workshop on Pension Litigation in New Delhi today. Dr Singh informed that the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare has introduced several citizen-centric reforms, and has digitised pension services through online systems to improve transparency and efficiency.
On the occasion, Attorney General R. Venkataramani stressed the need for coordinated efforts to achieve the goal of zero pension litigation. He said disputes should be resolved through better policy implementation, technology and institutional mechanisms rather than prolonged court battles. The Attorney General said reducing avoidable litigation will strengthen public confidence in the pension system and ensure timely justice for pensioners.
