The Government has debunked an article claiming that Indian Air Force suffered losses during the Balakot airstrike. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) informed that the article misrepresents the nature and execution of the operation, presenting a misleading narrative that distorts the facts. The Unit added that Balakot airstrike was a deliberate, targeted operation conducted by the Indian Air Force against a designated terrorist facility. PIB said that the operation underscored the IAF’s precision-strike capability, operational preparedness and resolve to deliver a calibrated response to terrorism. PIB also advised the media organisations to use verified information and to exercise care and factual accuracy when reporting on defence affairs and sensitive operations.
