BRICS Women Ministers’ Meeting welcomes India’s proposals for BRICS Digital Capacity-Building Guidelines

 
The BRICS Women Ministers’ Meeting concluded in Kochi with the adoption of the first-ever joint statement on the Women Ministers’ Track, marking a significant milestone in advancing cooperation among BRICS member countries on women-led development.  The four-day engagement, held from 6 July, comprised the BRICS Women Working Group Meeting and the BRICS Women Ministers’ Meeting. The meeting welcomed India’s proposals for a BRICS Digital Repository and the BRICS Digital Capacity-Building Guidelines. The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment to women-led development as a key driver of inclusive and sustainable growth.
Addressing the concluding session,  Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi,  said that the BRICS members share several common concerns relating to women’s development. She said these shared concerns highlight the pivotal importance of platforms like the BRICS Women Ministers’ Track in fostering dialogue and strengthening cooperation among member countries.
