In Arunachal Pradesh, MLA Tawang, Namgey Tsering today flagged off the Salt Trek, a heritage initiative paying tribute to the Monpa forefathers who once crossed over the rugged high-altitude mountains to bring salt and other essential commodities from Tibet.

Addressing the participants, he urged the youth to take pride in their inheritance and carry forward the rich cultural legacy of Monyul. More than 100 participants including Indian Army officers, students, youths and trekking enthusiasts participated in the programme.
