APEDA facilitates first export of Jharkhand Amrapali mangoes to United Kingdom

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has facilitated the export of the first commercial consignment of Amrapali mangoes from Jharkhand to the United Kingdom. The shipment comprises 1.5 metric tonnes of fresh mangoes sourced from Beura Farmer Producer Company Limited in the Simdega district.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal described the export of Amrapali mangoes grown by a women-led Farmer Producer Company in Jharkhand to the United Kingdom as a strong example of “Local Goes Global”.

He said that APEDA’s sustained efforts are helping farmers secure better prices, providing women with new opportunities and recognition, and giving fresh momentum to India’s agricultural exports.
