Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for transforming Andhra University into a model net-zero campus and a centre for environmental sustainability. Participating in World Environment Day celebrations at the university in Visakhapatnam today, he planted a sapling and urged authorities to enhance green cover and develop the campus as a biodiversity park.

Mr. Naidu stressed the adoption of solar energy, waste management, recycling and water conservation measures to make the campus environmentally sustainable. He expressed concern over rising temperatures and changing weather patterns and said Andhra University should emerge as a knowledge hub to guide other educational institutions in implementing net-zero practices.
