12 Years of Modi Government transformed India into an aspirational nation: Union Minister Jitendra Singh

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has said the Narendra Modi government has transformed India in the past 12 years into an aspirational nation driven by opportunity, innovation, and self-belief. Speaking to the media, Dr. Singh said that governance reforms, technological democratisation, and citizen-centric policies have fundamentally changed the way people of the country view their future prospects.

He said India’s space economy, currently valued at nearly 9 billion US dollars, is expected to grow to about 45 billion dollars over the next seven to eight years. The Minister added that the startup ecosystem has expanded from around 400 startups in 2014 to more than 2.3 lakh at present, generating nearly 25 lakh jobs.

Dr. Singh also highlighted that India’s successful lunar landing near the Moon’s south pole had boosted public interest in science, while earlier missions had provided evidence of water molecules on the Moon. He said strategic sectors such as space and parts of the nuclear ecosystem have been opened to private participation, marking a major policy shift.

The Minister said the government’s long-term goal is not just economic growth but building an empowered and aspirational society contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
