The Health Department of the West Bengal state government conducted raids at multiple locations today in connection with a blood trafficking racket. Earlier, allegations were raised against two blood banks for illegally transporting blood plasma to other regions. It is understood that the Health Department has uncovered evidence revealing the illegal trafficking of over three thousand units of blood within a six-month period. In Kolkata, three blood banks are currently under investigation. Allegations have been raised that blood collected through various donation camps across West Bengal was illegally transported to other locations, including blood banks in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.
