Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narenda Modi have expressed grief over the loss of lives due to the collapse of a building in Thane, Maharashtra. In a social media post, the vice president conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

 

In a separate social media post, Mr Modi condoled the bereaved families in this hour of grief. He also announced an ex-gratia of 2 lakh rupees from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased and 50 thousand rupees to the injured.
