Veer Chotrani, Anahat Singh, Akanksha Salunkhe enter semifinals of Western India Squash Slam

In Squash, India’s Veer Chotrani will take on Ameeshenraj Chandaran of Malaysia in the Men’s singles Semifinals of the Western India Slam in Mumbai this evening. Veer, seeded sixth, defeated Yassin Shohdy of Egypt, 11-6, 11-2, 11-5, in the quarterfinal yesterday.

 

In women’s singles, two-time champion, India’s Anahat Singh, and the top seed Akanksha Salunkhe have also entered the semifinals. Anahat defeated compatriot Anjali Semwal, seeded eighth, 11-3, 11-7, 11-7 in the quarterfinal. Akanksha progressed to the last four, by defeating Sze Wing Wai of Hong Kong, 11-5, 11-4, 11-3. Anahat will next take on Nour Khafagy of Egypt, while Akanksha will lock horns with another Egyptian, Jana Swaify in the semifinals this evening.
