Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today welcomed Kanwar pilgrims in Haridwar by showering flower petals and performing Charan Prakshalan during the Kanwar Yatra. Flower petals were also showered from a helicopter along the route from Har Ki Pedi to the Kanwar Yatra corridor. He also inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Health Service Camp, inspected the medical facilities available there, and served food to the devotees.
Mr. Dhami said the State Government is committed to ensuring a safe, convenient and respectful environment for every devotee visiting Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said the Kanwar Yatra reflects India’s Sanatan tradition, social harmony and spiritual ethos, and that all concerned departments are working in coordination for its smooth conduct.
The Chief Minister said that more than ten million devotees have so far collected Gangajal and proceeded towards their destinations during this year’s Kanwar Yatra. He added that extensive arrangements, including CCTV surveillance, drone monitoring, ambulance services, health camps and emergency response systems, have been put in place to ensure the safety and convenience of the pilgrims.
