The India Meteorological Department has forecast extremely heavy rainfall today over parts of Assam, Meghalaya, the Sub-Himalayas, West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected today in places over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

According to the Met Department parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Mahe, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are also likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall during the day. IMD also predicted thunderstorm conditions over Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Similar weather conditions are also expected over Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep and North Interior Karnataka.
