US President Donald Trump has said that he personally believes Iran was responsible for the terrorist attack carried out by an Omani co-pilot aboard a flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. Trump said this while responding to media queries on the White House premises. The remarks came following the foiled mid-air hijacking and crash attempt aboard flydubai Flight FZ1073 on 30th of last month, when Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami attacked Indian Captain Smit Machchhar inside the cockpit. The attack was thwarted after Captain Machchhar, despite being severely injured, succeeded in opening the cockpit door. The incident has drawn attention to the actions of Machchhar, who was praised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a hero of Israel, India, and the world.
