US envoy Steve Witkoff, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi head to Switzerland for next round of talks

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi are heading to Switzerland for the next round of talks. The talks were originally scheduled to begin yesterday but were postponed because of ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. However, a ceasefire was later reached between the two sides following fresh strikes earlier in the day. The report said the agreement was brokered through mediation efforts involving the United States and Qatar. Iran also played a role in facilitating the deal.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is travelling to Switzerland as preparations continue for a new round of talks between the United States and Iran. According to media reports, the negotiations are expected to focus on a possible nuclear agreement following the recently announced memorandum of understanding between the two countries aimed at ending hostilities in West Asia.

US Media reported that Witkoff is on his way to Switzerland, where the first round of talks is expected to take place. A US official also told the media that Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of President Donald Trump, is already in Switzerland ahead of the discussions.

It is not yet clear when the talks between Washington and Tehran will begin.
