Police investigating the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case have arrested three more accused from a printing press in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, taking the total number of arrests to 10. The arrested persons are employees of the printing press where the TET question papers were printed. A court in Bhiwandi has remanded the three accused to police custody till 9th July.
The case came to light after Bhiwandi police foiled a major paper leak a day before the scheduled TET examination. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted three alleged members of a paper leak racket who had allegedly brought the question papers from Delhi and were preparing to sell them in a deal worth around 1.5 crore rupees.
The accused were arrested before the transaction could take place, and police seized four sets of TET question papers, along with mobile phones and cash. Officials of the Maharashtra State Council of Examination later confirmed that the seized papers matched the original question papers.
