UP: HM Amit Shah urges party workers to work with full commitment for forthcoming assembly elections

Home Minister Amit Shah today said the BJP would implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttar Pradesh, expressing confidence that the party would return to power in the state after assembly elections next year. Addressing the BJP State Working Committee meeting in Lucknow today, he said the BJP government is as firm as Angad’s foot and could not be removed. He urged party workers to work with full commitment to secure another victory with a clear majority. He credited party workers for the BJP’s victories in the 2017 and 2022 Assembly elections.

Mr. Shah said that the UCC has already been implemented in several states. Referring to 1990 firing on Ram devotees in Ayodhya during the Samajwadi party government, Mr. Shah alleged that indiscriminate firing had been ordered on devotees of Lord Ram and BJP workers. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party would remain out of power in the state for 30 years.

The Home Minister lauded Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s contribution in the growth of the state saying that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as an investment hub, attracting investments worth over 50 lakh crore rupees. He added that improvements in law and order in UP had attracted investment, which in turn generated employment opportunities and eventually helped curb migration from the state.

The meeting was chaired by BJP state president and Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP state in-charge Vinod Tawde and national general secretary Smriti Irani and other members of the state executive committee attended the meeting.
