Union Minister says youth must be empowered to realise vision of developed India by 2047

 
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya today said India’s youth must be guided and empowered to realise the vision of a developed India by 2047. Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day Chintan Shivir-Purvottar at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong, the Union Minister said that the programme aims to connect the youth with the national development agenda through collective brainstorming. He stressed the need for stronger coordination among district administrations, colleges, youth clubs, and volunteers to ensure effective implementation of youth programmes at the grassroots level.
Organised by the Department of Youth Affairs, in collaboration with MY Bharat, the two-day event’s focus is on policy alignment, leadership development, annual action plans, and digital youth engagement through the MY Bharat portal. It will conclude on May 30th. 
Addressing the occasion, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse highlighted the need for better coordination between field officers and state authorities and said active youth clubs and sports initiatives in the Northeast region can help steer young people away from substance abuse.
She said the Chintan Shivir will help identify challenges and strengthen year-long engagement with youth across the region.
Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Wailadmiki Shylla,while addressing the occasion, extended gratitude to the central government for the support. He said that the purpose of the Chintan Shivir was to create young leaders who would lead the country.
The conclave is expected to come up with recommendations to strengthen youth programmes and enhance coordination among the Centre, state, and grassroots institutions.
