Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urges Polish companies to build, innovate and invest in India

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal today urged Polish companies to build, innovate and invest in India. Addressing the India-Poland Business Forum in New Delhi, he said that India offers the scale of a large and growing market and the skills of a young and talented workforce.

Mr Sonowal said that Indian IT companies have made Poland a base for their European operations and employ about ten thousand people there. He added that the next step should go into artificial intelligence, quantum computing, 5G applications, digital infrastructure, smart manufacturing and space. The Minister also proposed a Startup Bridge, an Innovation Corridor and an AI and Quantum Dialogue to link businesses, researchers and innovators in India and Poland.

He informed that trade between the two countries has reached over six billion dollars, and stressed that the ambition should be larger than doubling trade by 2030.
