As the nation gears up to celebrate the 80th Independence Day, a group of 30 women and young girls undergoing skill development training at the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI RSETI), Udhampur, are contributing to the patriotic spirit by hand-stitching National Flags, Tiranga-themed accessories, and decorative items under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the initiative blends skill development with patriotism, providing trainees with practical tailoring and stitching experience while supporting the nationwide movement that encourages every household to proudly hoist the National Flag during Independence Day celebrations. Using their newly acquired tailoring skills, the trainees are preparing high-quality Tricolours and patriotic products, demonstrating how vocational training can create livelihood opportunities while fostering a sense of national pride.

The programme also encourages self-employment by equipping participants with marketable skills that can be converted into sustainable income-generating ventures. The initiative empowers rural women and youth through entrepreneurship-orientated skill development. The trainees expressed pride in being part of an initiative that allows them to serve the nation through their craftsmanship.
