The Information and Cultural Affairs Department of Tripura organised a central tribute programme at Mukta Dhara Auditorium today to mark the death anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Higher Education Minister Kishore Barman, Vice-Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, Information and Cultural Affairs Department Director Bimbisar Bhattacharya and noted Rabindra scholar Meenakshi Bhattacharya attended the programme.

Speakers highlighted Tagore’s humanistic values, philosophy and literary contributions, while stressing the need to inspire the younger generation to develop a deeper interest in his works. Artists from various cultural organisations presented dance, music and recitations during the programme.
