Following incessant rainfall across Tripura, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy to very heavy rainfall alert for several districts, including West Tripura, Sepahijala, Khowai, Gomati, and South Tripura, effective until July 16.

Over the last 24 hours, Agartala recorded a massive 138 mm of rainfall, followed closely by Bishramganj at 116 mm. In the interest of student safety, the Director of the School Education Department has ordered the immediate suspension of classes for today across all government, government-aided, and private schools in the worst-hit West Tripura and Sepahijala districts.
