In Uttarakhand, three people were killed while three others went missing after their jeep fell into river Ganga near Gular in Tehri district in the wee hours this morning.

Akashvani correspondent reports that five persons were pulled out alive from the ditch immediately by Police and SDRF while a search is on for three others including the driver. The ill-fated vehicle was carrying 11 passengers and was on its way to Rishikesh from Sonprayag.

Around 3 am near Malakunti bridge towards Gular Valley, the jeep fell into the river when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to rain and falling of stones from the mountain.

The rescued passengers are residents of different States.
