Delhi Police has said that Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 is in force in New Delhi District to ensure public safety, public order and smooth traffic movement. In a public notice, DCP New Delhi said that unauthorised gatherings, public speeches, shouting of slogans, processions, demonstrations, dharnas and other specified activities are prohibited. It also said that no permission has been granted for any protest scheduled for today, nor has any prior intimation regarding any such protest been received by New Delhi District Police. Delhi Police has requested citizens to strictly comply with the order and cooperate with them.
