Prime Minister Modi to inaugurate RBI’s Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Odisha today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute at Jatni, near Bhubaneswar, in Odisha this evening. Built at an estimated cost of 170 crore rupees, the facility is expected to strengthen data security and enhance the resilience of India’s digital financial infrastructure.

Odisha is hosting the RBI’s second data centre in the country, marking a significant development in the state’s growing technology infrastructure. The project will also promote specialised training and research in cybersecurity and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The facility is expected to provide additional capacity for safeguarding critical financial data and improving the resilience of the country’s digital financial infrastructure.

The accompanying Cybersecurity Training Institute will serve as a dedicated centre for specialised training, research and capacity building in enterprise computing and cybersecurity. It will also focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The initiative assumes significance as India’s digital payments ecosystem continues to expand, increasing the need for secure, reliable and resilient financial systems. The project is expected to strengthen the Reserve Bank of India’s technological capabilities and contribute to the security and stability of India’s financial ecosystem.
