Second meeting of India-Morocco Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism held in New Delhi

The second meeting of the India-Morocco Joint Working Group on Counter Terrorism was held in New Delhi yesterday. The meeting was co-chaired by the Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism) in the Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. Vinod Bahade, and the Head of the National Judicial Police Brigade at the Directorate General of the National Police of the Kingdom of Morocco, Hicham Baali.
 
During the meeting, both sides unequivocally condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism. They specifically denounced the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on 22 April last year and the terror incident near the Red Fort in New Delhi on 10 November last year. 
 
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two countries deliberated on measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation to counter terrorism through information sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of best practices.
 
They also reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in multilateral fora, including the United Nations, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Global Counter-terrorism Forum (GCTF). Discussions also covered threats posed by terrorist groups globally and in their respective regions. India and Morocco agreed to hold the next meeting of the Joint Working Group in Morocco on a mutually convenient date.
