Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Cabinet’s approval of GOBARdhan Scheme is a vital step towards clean energy, rural prosperity and realising the Country’s collective dream of becoming a self-reliant nation. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that the scheme will give a major boost to Compressed Biogas, with an aim of increasing domestic CBG production nearly ten-fold. He added that it will also create a strong and predictable ecosystem for investment and innovation, benefiting farmers, cooperatives, MSMEs, women entrepreneurs and rural enterprises while strengthening energy security, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels and promoting scientific waste management.
Further, the Prime Minister underlined that the 4-lane access-controlled Guwahati-Tezpur Corridor of NH-15 project will reduce travel time, improve road safety and ease congestion through major bypasses at various locations. Mr Modi noted that it will also include an Emergency Landing Facility at Tezpur, along with bridges, flyovers, underpasses and service roads. He highlighted that the corridor will strengthen seamless connectivity across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
