Addressing a roaring crowd at Marvel Stadium for the historic “Melbourne Meets Modi” reception in Australia, the Prime Minister hailed the vibrant, one-million-strong diaspora as a foundation pillar of bilateral friendship.
Completing a diplomatic “hat-trick” with his third visit to Australia over twelve years, the Prime Minister outlined a powerful roadmap for a future-ready, developed India driven by the mantra ‘Grow More, Achieve More.’ Highlighting a manufacturing ecosystem stretching “from chips to ships,” he noted that “Make in India” is a global brand across electronics, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals. India’s rapid infrastructure modernization took center stage, with the Prime Minister spotlighting the country’s rise as the world’s third-largest metro network alongside the swift expansion of semi-high-speed Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Vande Bharat systems.
Turning to strategic security and innovation, the Prime Minister highlighted the global credibility of India’s indigenous defense platforms, specifically citing the definitive anti-terror strikes executed under Operation Sindoor. He also celebrated India’s emergence as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, noting an upcoming milestone where a domestic space startup will launch a satellite using its own rocket. Looking ahead, he invited closer sports collaboration as India prepares to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and contends for the 2036 Olympics.
Crucially, the Prime Minister emphasised the universal mantra of “Nagrik Devo Bhava,” reiterating that when India extends a helping hand during crises-like Operation Brahma in Myanmar or Operation Sagar Bandhu in Sri Lanka-it never looks at the color of a passport.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese celebrated the rally’s palpable energy. Recalling his deep connection to India that began as a backpacker in 1991, Albanese lauded the diaspora as a multicultural powerhouse driving Australia’s prosperity and hailed the community as the ultimate “living bridge” anchoring an unstoppable partnership.
