With elaborate preparations underway for the world-famous Rath Yatra in Puri, the Odisha Government has entered the final phase of its administrative readiness. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today chaired the final meeting of the Rath Yatra Coordination Committee and directed all departments to ensure impeccable arrangements for the annual festival.
Akashvani’s correspondent reports that Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed all departments to ensure a faultless, safe and incident-free Rath Yatra through seamless inter-departmental coordination and meticulous execution of every arrangement. Chairing the final meeting of the Rath Yatra Coordination Committee in Puri this morning, the Chief Minister said the annual chariot festival is not merely a religious occasion but a symbol of Odisha’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage, drawing millions of devotees from across the globe.
Mr Majhi laid special emphasis on the security, safety and dignity of women devotees, instructing the authorities to maintain heightened vigilance and adopt robust measures to provide a secure and congenial environment throughout the festivities. He comprehensively reviewed preparedness relating to crowd management, multi-layered security, traffic regulation, sanitation, drinking water supply, healthcare, emergency response and other essential civic services.
Stressing that every ritual must be conducted on schedule, the Chief Minister appealed to servitors, voluntary organisations and all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the successful conduct of the festival. He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of all concerned would ensure a flawless and memorable Rath Yatra for devotees from across the country and abroad.
