The National Testing Agency (NTA) today said that it is fully prepared for the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-examination, which is scheduled for the upcoming Sunday. In a statement, NTA said that the exam will be conducted across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad for over 22.79 lakh candidates.

The agency noted that more than two lakh personnel, including observers, coordinators, police forces and administrators, have been deployed. The NTA noted that multi-layered security framework has been put in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination. It includes CCTV surveillance, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, GPS-enabled vehicles with police escort for movement of examination materials and end-to-end secure handling of confidential materials to designated locations under sealed protocols. The agency added that active monitoring of social media platforms is being undertaken to curb misinformation and prevent malpractice.
