Northern Railway has achieved significant milestones in operational efficiency, revenue generation, ticket checking, and passenger services during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, from April to June. During this period, it enhanced passenger convenience through various operational initiatives and recorded significant revenue growth, surpassing the targets set by the Railway Board.

Northern Railway also recorded significant improvements in overall passenger and revenue performance. Originating passengers increased from more than 114 million to 120 million during this period, which stands as over 5 percent increase. Revenue grew from over three thousand crore rupees to more than three thousand five hundred crore rupees, reflecting an increase of over 15 per cent.

Meanwhile, to meet the growing passenger demand, Northern Railway successfully operated more than one thousand 800 special trains under the Trains on Demand scheme, generating additional revenue of over 185 crore rupees.
