Northeast child rights convention will shape future policies, says NHRC Member Priyank Kanoongo

The two-day Regional Convention of the State Commissions for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCRs) of the North Eastern States concluded at Kalawangpo Convention Hall, Tawang today with a renewed commitment to strengthening child rights through regional cooperation.

 

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Member Priyank Kanoongo, the chief guest at the valedictory session, said the convention’s recommendations would help shape child rights policies and institutional mechanisms for the next two decades. Representatives of the participating states shared best practices and resolved to enhance collaboration, child protection systems and the overall well-being of children across the Northeast.
