The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi has once again breached the danger mark. At five p.m. today, the water level at the river stood over 206.32 meters. The rise in water level is due to the discharge from the Hathnikund barrage in Haryana following heavy rain in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Delhi Revenue Minister Atishi said, the government is on a high alert. She said, a further increase in the water level of the river will impact relief-and-rehabilitation work currently going on in the flood-affected low-lying areas of the National Capital.
Meanwhile, the Noida District administration in Uttar Pradesh has issued a flood warning for low-lying areas along the Hindon river due to a surge in water discharge. Around 200 people from five villages have been evacuated and shifted to shelter homes.
