The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against two accused in a cross-border terror conspiracy. Both are involved in the alleged smuggling of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), a firearm and heroin across the India-Pakistan border for use in planned attacks in Punjab and New Delhi.
The chargesheet, which has been filed in NIA’s Mohali-based Special Court yesterday, named Shubham Kumar, who has been arrested, and Jasvir Chaudhary, who remains absconding.
NIA took over the investigation from Punjab Police after the Amritsar-based State Special Operations Cell arrested Kumar in February this year with a live IED, a remote-control device, a foreign-made pistol and live cartridges and heroin. Further investigation is on.
