The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday conducted state-wide raids in Tamil Nadu in the Popular Front of India (PFI) conspiracy case relating to assassination of a man in Thanjavur in February 2019 for protesting against forcible conversions by the banned outfit. The raids were conducted at the homes of five absconding Proclaimed Offenders and suspects across 21 locations in Tamil Nadu. The NIA has announced a reward of 5 lakh rupees each to anyone providing information leading to the arrest of any of the five absconders. In a statement, the NIA said that today’s raids in the districts of Thanjavur, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Villupuram, Trichy, Pudukottai, Coimbatore and Mayiladuthurai led to the seizure of several digital devices and documents.
