NHRC issues notice to MP govt over reported assault in govt school

 
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notice to the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh and Superintendent of Police, Shivpuri over the reported assault and casteist remarks by a teacher at a Government Primary School in Ukawal village, Shivpuri district. Taking suo motu cognizance of the incident, the Commission has called for a detailed report on the matter within two weeks. According to the media report, carried on 1st of this month, the teacher was enraged seeing the boy belonging from a scheduled caste community drinking water from his bottle. The Commission has observed that the contents of the news report, if true, raise serious issues of violation of human rights of the victim students.
