NCW Seeks Action Taken Report on Rajasthan Minor Rape Case

The National Commission for Women has taken serious cognizance of the reported gang-rape and trafficking of a 13-year-old minor girl in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. The Commission has directed the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Sri Ganganagar to submit a comprehensive Action Taken Report within 15 days.


The Commission emphasised the need for effective coordination among all concerned agencies, including the police, medical authorities and forensic agencies, to ensure a comprehensive and expeditious investigation. The Commission took note of the investigation conducted by the Special Investigation Team in which 18 accused have been arrested so far. The Commission emphasised the need for the prompt arrest of the remaining accused and completion of the investigation in a time-bound manner.


The District Magistrate of Sri Ganganagar has been directed to identify and take strict enforcement action against all unregistered and unauthorised hotels and establishments operating in the district within 15 days. Taking serious note of the circulation of videos and content related to the minor survivor on digital platforms, the Commission has directed the police authorities to ensure immediate removal of such content from all social media and online platforms.
