National budget doubled, tax burden reduced under PM Modi govt: Union Minister Mandaviya

Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya today stated that India’s national budget has doubled while the tax burden on citizens has significantly decreased over the last twelve years under PM Narendra Modi’s governance. Addressing a press conference at Porbandar in Gujarat to mark the completion of twelve years of the Union Government, Dr Mandaviya highlighted sweeping transformations across infrastructure, social security, and employment sectors.

The Minister said that national highway construction has accelerated from a daily average of nine kilometres before 2014 to twenty-eight kilometres today, while railway line expansion has reached fourteen kilometres per day. In the social security sector, coverage has expanded exponentially from nineteen per cent of the population before 2014 to over sixty-four per cent today, driven by Jan Dhan accounts and DBT.

Speaking on regional employment initiatives, Dr. Mandaviya announced that a dedicated employment dashboard has been developed for the Porbandar Lok Sabha constituency. It coordinates with nearly two hundred companies to list over fifty-two thousand vacancies, with twelve thousand youth already registered.
