Nagaland today got its first Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Aadhaar Seva Kendra, with Advisor for Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, inaugurating the facility at Purana Bazaar in Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ayemi highlighted the importance of Aadhaar in ensuring uninterrupted access to education and other government services. He informed that the biometric update service will remain free of cost until September 30. The Aadhaar Seva Kendra has the capacity to process up to 250 enrolment and update requests daily. The centre will remain open all days of the week except on public holidays.
