Mumbai today witnessed the immersion of iconic Ganpati idols, including the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja and Chinchpokhlicha Chintamani, as thousands of devotees participated in processions that continued for over 21 hours.
The immersion processions began on Friday morning on Anant Chaturthi, marking the end of the 12-day Ganesh festival, and continued through the night across the city.
Lalbaugcha Raja was immersed in the Arabian Sea at around 10.50 am while Chinchpokhlicha Chintamani was immersed around 10 am.
Cleanup operations began at immersion sites and major procession routes following the festivities.
